John represented AT&T in United States v. AT&T and in the private antitrust and Federal Communications Commission litigation leading up to the divestiture of the Bell System into independent operating companies. Later on, John provided ongoing strategic advice to the President of AT&T who had been John’s client earlier in his career when he had served as senior vice president of one of the major US railroads. He also represented regional Bell operating companies, interexchange carriers, switch and other equipment manufacturers, and new technology telecommunications entities in a range of regulatory, antitrust, corporate restructuring, technology transfer and e-commerce matters.
